We've crossed some instances that the QBC is losing the configured static IP.
The QBC Start will only assign the configured static IP if there is an
active “powered” connection detected on the network port.
Some common failures resulting in this issue could be the follow:
- Bad network cable
- Power saving or other Ethernet settings on the workstation's configuration.
- Power failure of the QBC device or failing Ethernet adapters.
To eliminate any possibility of any settings on the workstation that could be causing the issue is to use a small hub/switch between the QBC and Workstation.
This configuration will maintain an active network connection to the QBC Star's network interface. If this resolves the issue, then the issue is related to some type of configuration on the workstation's Ethernet port.
